I guess last week's visit to Disneyland Paris inspired me, because the next day I felt like dressing up, and the result is super Disney princess. Imagine if Ariel went to a garden party, something like that! The top is old, I've had it for four years at least, and you've definitely seen these pretty shoes before, but the Closet London skirt is new. It's part of Closet London's By Invitation Only collection, which was specifically designed for all your wedding attending/garden party/race day outfit needs. Colourful, feminine and with a healthy dose of whimsy. I always check out Closet London's offering when I have a party to attend, they have really awesome sales and their garments are great value for money if you're looking for something chic.

This particular skirt was love at first sight for me, from the way the teal palmleaf print catches the light to the structured, full fit and the tea length, high-low hemline. Of course I could dress it down with a tee and some flats, but I felt like letting my inner princess out and opted for a combination that totally brings out my likeness to Katy Perry.

I'm also wearing this dainty little silver seashell necklace I ordered on Etsy. I'd been wanting to buy a seashell necklace for ages, as a way to make up for the fact that I didn't buy any souvenir in Puerto Rico last year even though that was pretty much the most amazing time I'd experienced in my life up until now. Seashells remind me of that time in the Caribbean, the scent of coconuts, the balmy temperatures and the most stunning, clear blue ocean. My necklace comes from the U.S. rather than San Juan, but it's close enough.
