This plaid mini skirt is one of my most recent vintage finds. I don't go thrifting as often as I used to, but I still love the thrill of finding just the item you're looking for, in your size, for a couple of bucks. I had been specifically looking for a pleated plaid mini skirt, preferably in shades of red, so I had to take this one home with me when I spotted it at Think Twice.

I wanted to go with the vibe of the skirt and play up the preppy/schoolgirl vibe, but not look like I was underage/wearing a costume or an actual school uniform. I feel like I succeeded pretty nicely. The patent brogues and the loose fitting cashmere cardigan perfectly complete the look. These kinds of preppy, buttoned up outfits actually translate nicely to the office. There's a reason why school uniforms are basically the way society prepares children for a future of walking the line at a nine to five job while your creativity and dreams slowly die! J/K of course. I love my job, and I love my school uniform slash office outfit.

The skirt is pretty short, but pairing it with flats keeps it from veering into fetish territory. Lord knows I already have enough tights fetishists as readers. And no, that is not a joke. You should see the emails I get sometimes. Not that I mind, as long as people remain respectful and civil :'D

Hope you like the outfit!
